Planning a Costco run sounds simple until you arrive with an empty trunk, a long shopping list, and find out the warehouse is not open yet.
In 2026, Costco operating times depend on your membership type, the day of the week, and the warehouse you visit. Executive Members also have access to earlier shopping hours at participating U.S. locations.
For many warehouses, Gold Star and Business Members can shop from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, while Saturday and Sunday schedules are shorter. Executive Members can generally enter earlier.
What Are Costco Store Hours During a Normal Week?
Many U.S. Costco warehouses follow a similar weekly schedule, but there is no single timetable that applies perfectly to every location.
Official warehouse listings for locations such as Tustin, Corona, Fullerton, and Northridge, California, currently show the following common schedule for Gold Star and Business Members.
| Day | Gold Star & Business Members | Executive Members |
| Monday | 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. |
| Tuesday | 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. |
| Wednesday | 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. |
| Thursday | 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. |
| Friday | 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. |
| Saturday | 9:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. |
| Sunday | 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. | 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. |
Do Executive Members Get Into Costco Earlier?
Yes. Costco introduced exclusive early shopping periods for Executive Members beginning June 30, 2025, and the benefit continues to appear in Costco’s current membership information.
Executive Member early access is generally:
- Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Sunday: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
After the regular opening time begins, Executive Members can continue shopping during normal warehouse hours.
This is one of the biggest changes shoppers should know when checking Costco Store Hours in 2026.
It also explains why you may see people entering the warehouse at 9:00 a.m. even though your Gold Star membership shows a 10:00 a.m. opening time. No secret handshake is required; they may simply have an Executive Membership.

What Are Costco’s Saturday Hours?
Saturday is usually one of Costco’s longer weekend shopping days.
At many U.S. locations, Gold Star and Business Members can shop from approximately 9:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Executive Members commonly receive access beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Official listings for warehouses in Corona, Fullerton, Northridge, and Tustin currently show this schedule.
Saturday can also be a busy shopping day, especially around holidays and the beginning or end of the month.
If your goal is simply to buy three things, remember that Costco has a mysterious ability to turn three things into a cart containing paper towels, snacks, socks, and enough olive oil to supply a small restaurant.
Checking the opening time before you go at least removes one surprise from the trip.
What Are Costco’s Sunday Hours?
Sunday hours are often shorter than weekday hours.
Many warehouses currently list regular member hours of approximately 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Executive Members entering from 9:00 a.m.
However, Sunday schedules can differ by location. Costco’s San Francisco warehouse, for example, currently lists a 7:00 p.m. closing time.
Because of these differences, do not assume the warehouse across town follows the exact same schedule as the one near your home.
Checking local Costco Hours takes less time than driving across town and meeting a locked entrance.
Is Costco Open on Holidays in 2026?
Costco closes its U.S. warehouses on several major holidays.
According to Costco’s official customer-service information, U.S. warehouses close on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Here are the relevant dates for 2026:
| Holiday | 2026 Date | U.S. Warehouse Status |
| New Year’s Day | Thursday, January 1 | Closed |
| Easter Sunday | Sunday, April 5 | Closed |
| Memorial Day | Monday, May 25 | Closed |
| Independence Day | Saturday, July 4 | Closed |
| Labor Day | Monday, September 7 | Closed |
| Thanksgiving Day | Thursday, November 26 | Closed |
| Christmas Day | Friday, December 25 | Closed |
If a holiday is not on this list, do not automatically assume Costco follows its normal schedule.
Costco recommends checking its warehouse locator because individual locations can display adjusted holiday hours as well as closures.
That is especially useful around days such as Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, when operating times may differ from the normal weekly schedule.
Are Costco Gas Station Hours the Same as Warehouse Hours?
Usually, no.
Costco gas stations often open earlier than the warehouse and may stay open later.
For example, the official Northridge, California warehouse listing currently shows gas service from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, while the main warehouse does not begin regular Gold Star and Business Member shopping until 10:00 a.m.
The same location lists Saturday gas hours from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday hours from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Other warehouses can follow different schedules. The Stuart, Florida location, for example, currently lists weekday gasoline hours beginning at 6:00 a.m.
So, if you only need fuel, check gas station hours rather than relying on the main warehouse schedule.
What Time Does the Costco Pharmacy Open?
Costco pharmacies can follow different operating times from the main warehouse.
For example, Costco’s Northridge location currently lists pharmacy service from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday. The pharmacy is closed Sunday.
At Costco’s Torrance location, the pharmacy currently operates until 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and 7:00 p.m. Saturday, while remaining closed Sunday.
This shows why shoppers should check the department rather than only the warehouse opening time.
Some Costco pharmacy listings also note that when only one pharmacist is working, the pharmacy may close for about 30 minutes between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
If you are picking up an important prescription, checking first can save an unnecessary trip.
Do the Tire Center, Optical Department and Food Court Follow the Same Schedule?
Not always.
Costco warehouses can include several services, such as:
- Tire Service Center
- Pharmacy
- Optical Department
- Hearing Aid Center
- Food Court
- Gas Station
- Car Wash
Each service may have its own schedule.
Costco’s official guidance says shoppers should select their warehouse and review the Store Details section to see service-specific times. Costco also notes that if a service shows only a phone number and no separate schedule, it follows the warehouse’s hours.
Some Tire Centers currently follow the main warehouse schedule. Pharmacy hours, as mentioned above, commonly differ.
The lesson is simple: if you need a specific department, check that department directly.
How Can You Find the Hours for Your Nearest Costco?
The most reliable method is Costco’s official warehouse locator.
You can search by city, state, or ZIP code and select a warehouse to view its current schedule. Costco’s locator also lets users filter locations based on services such as gas stations, pharmacies, optical departments, food courts, Tire Centers, and Business Centers.
The process is simple:
- Open Costco’s warehouse locator.
- Enter your city, state, or ZIP code.
- Choose the correct warehouse.
- Review regular and Executive Member hours.
- Scroll to the warehouse services section if you need gas, pharmacy, tires, or another department.
- Check for holiday closures or adjusted schedules.
Costco also states that shoppers can use the Costco app to find location information and operating times.
This is more reliable than depending on an old screenshot or a timetable saved months ago.
Why Do Costco Hours Vary by Location?
Costco clearly states that there may be slight differences in warehouse schedules.
Location-specific differences can include Sunday closing times, gas station schedules, pharmacy times, and other department hours.
For example, several California warehouses currently close their regular shopping area at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, while San Francisco closes at 7:00 p.m.
This is why a national guide should give you a useful starting point rather than pretending every warehouse follows an identical schedule.
For exact Costco Store Hours, the warehouse’s official listing should always be your final check.
What Is the Best Time to Visit Costco?
The best time depends on what you need.
If you are an Executive Member, the exclusive morning shopping period gives you an option before regular member access begins.
If you have a Gold Star or Business Membership, arriving close to the regular opening time can give you more of the day to shop without worrying about closing time.
For department-specific visits, timing matters even more. A warehouse may still be open while its pharmacy has already closed.
Holiday weeks also deserve extra planning. Since Costco closes completely on seven major U.S. holidays, shoppers may concentrate their trips on the days before and after those closures.
A little planning is useful when your shopping cart is roughly the size of a compact vehicle.
